How Often Should You Service Your AC in the Texas Heat?

Your AC in San Antonio runs eight or nine months a year, often wide open. That's a lot more wear than a system in a milder climate, and it changes the maintenance math.

Twice a year is the right cadence

We recommend a spring cooling tune-up and a fall heating tune-up — two visits a year. Most of the emergency repairs we run in August are problems a spring tune-up would have caught for a fraction of the cost.

What a real tune-up actually includes

Not a $19 "oil and look." A real tune-up is 60–90 minutes of measurement: refrigerant charge, capacitor test under load, static pressure, temperature split, and a photo log emailed to you. If we can't show you the readings, it wasn't a tune-up.
